GLOSSARY


5S :


SEIRI - to eliminate, SEITON - to arrange, SEISO - to clean, SEIKETSU - to hold in order, SHITSUKE - to respect the order. Methodological support of a step quality. List controls to obtain on the place of work an increased order, effectiveness and a discipline.

Analyzer Depth of Process (APP):

The obectif one of this analysis is the simplication of the matter flow in the factory. By the description of the wastings (transfers, storages and controls), this analysis makes it possible to concentrate on the operations with added value and to thus increase the total productivity.

Customer :

The customer, internal or external, is the person or function who receives the product or the service of activities which are directed to him.

Pull system:

The concept of pull system is an evolution of that of tended flow. It rests on the principle of satisfaction of the customer throughout the logistic chain. Plannings of deliveries, of production are built starting from the requests customers. Stocks are established to compensate for the lack of flexibility of the supplier: it is thus him which has the load of it. The implementation of improvements of the flexibility of the means and organization is then undertaken for the reduction of stocks and their associated costs. Principal developed tools: SMED - KANBAN - Analysis Depth of Process - HOSHIN. .

HOSHIN :

This tool of continuous improvement is based on the notion of Takt-Time. It acts of time separating the production from two successive parts. A building site of Progress HOSHIN consists in modifying the processes of production of the supplier so that its Takt-Time is the same one as that of its customer. The interests are numerous: reduction of stocks, improvement of the productivity process and labour, profit of surface, satisfaction of the customer.

KAIZEN :

The Japanese use the word kaïzen for saying "kaï = to study and Zen = to improve". The kaïzen is a process of concrete improvements, carried out within time very runs by a multidisciplinary team.

KANBAN :

In Japanese Kanban means label, card, chart. The purpose of Kanban is to define the methods of startup of a production in pull system, i.e. in which they are the order-customers who automatically start manufacture by increase of the orders from the exit of the products.

Not Conformity:

Not satisfaction with the specified requirements.

QUALITY :

Conformity of the products and services to the expressed or implicit needs for the internal and external customers. Together properties and characteristic of a product or service which confer the aptitude to him to satisfy expressed and/or implicit needs. Together characteristics of an entity which confers the aptitude to him to satisfy the explicit and implicit needs. .

SMED :

The SMED (Individual Minute Exchange of Die) is a method of organization of work which seeks to reduce in a systematic way time of change of series, with a quantified objective (standard AFNOR NF X50-310).

TPM :

TPM are initial of the Total Productive one Maintenance which means productive maintenance with the participation of all the members of a group. The TPM aims to improve the performances of a means and to create a framework of justifying work, by eliminating the wastings due to deficiencies on the installations.

TRS :

Synthetic yield.
It is the report/ratio in % of the decreased total time of manufacture of the breakdowns, time of deceleration and time of manufacture of parts nonin conformity, divided by the total time of manufacture. The TRS is the only indicator which holds account of all the parameters which affect the productivity of a machine
